Gateway Medical, a division of Medical Services of America, Inc., currently seeks an experienced Part-Time/PRN Nurse Practitioner for our patients in the Greenville, SC area.

Provides health care to patients and education to their families through the application of advanced knowledge and skills. In collaboration with the Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner provides services related to primary care, health promotion and chronic disease management.

• Completes health assessments.
• Ability to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
• Develops a treatment plan.
• Implements a plant that is consistent with the appropriate plan of care.
• Follow up on patient's status, after treatment.
• Facilitates a patient's entrance into the healthcare system.
• Provides appropriate patient and family education.
• Facilitates patient participation in self-care.
• Provides continuity of competent care.
• Promotes a safe environment.
• Participates as a team leader and member of the healthcare/medical team.
• Routinely conducts physical examinations and obtains medical history as needed.
• Ability to focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education and counseling.
• Ability to order, conduct, supervise, and interprets diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Prescribes pharmacological agents and non-pharmacologic therapies.
• Maintains accurate, legible and confidential records both written and electronic (EMR system provided).
• Participates in continued learning and annual continuing education as required by state licensure.
• Serves as mentors, healthcare providers, researchers, managers, and consultants.
• Address a patients' multiple medical problems and chronic illnesses, while focusing primarily on quality of life and functional ability.
• Ensures that patient rights and cultural treatment considerations are honored, as able.
• In consultation with the medical director, patient and family, determine when it is no longer medically safe for a particular patient to live alone and counsel them on alternative living arrangements.
• Counsels patients and families on end of life care.
• Complies with legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Adheres to all organization, payroll, billing and documentation policies and procedures.
• Appropriately uses infection control practices to minimize patient and staff infection.
• Appropriately uses PPE including donning and doffing and optimization in times of shortage.
• Knowledgeable of current federal, state, Joint Commission and organization regulations concerning patient care.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in SC.
• Current certification by a national certifying body as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current health certificate/physical examination and TB testing.
• Excellent assessment skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Previous primary care experience preferred.
